Hazy, with a chance of curry

This is the view from this morning, 7am -- I tried to make a panoramic using MS Paint, sorry for the window glare.  Another hazy day here -- it's been rainy and cloudy since we got here on Monday night.  Luckily we're inside most of the time, and we only really got caught out in the rain once.  Of course, neither of us thought to bring an umbrella.

Slept pretty well last night -- passed out around 10pm here, woke up at 4am, read for a little bit, fell back to sleep, and got up with the alarm at 6am.  Went to the gym this morning - blood pressure - and worked our for a bit.  Towards the end of my workout, I was getting a pretty strong whiff of something, sort of like hot dogs, but earthier?  It wasn't completely unpleasant, but I figured it was my queue to leave.  Except, on the way back to my room, it seemed like the smell was all over the hotel.  Maybe it was the kitchen getting ready for breakfast?  I got back to my room, and was taking off my sweatshirt -- I had done shoulders and arms today, and was already sore, and couldn't quite get my sweatshirt off in one swoop.  So there I was, my sweatshirt half-off, my head trapped in the chambers of my own sweat, and I realized -- it was me.

I'm sweating curry.

Which really is a testament to how good the Indian food is here.  If we could explore the area a little more, I bet there is some really amazing food nearby.  I think our colleagues are going to take us to dinner later this week, so I'll report back.  And I'll try to post a little more later -- right now, I have to get dressed and ready for work.  Catch you soon!

And we're off...to bed

I have to tell you -- it's hard to top a blog name like Hakuna Ma-Fatwa.  I've been agonizing over this for hours, with contenders such as:

Madoori Really Like It?
Curry Events
That's Milarious
I Want It Bombay
Lawyer in the Dell
Don't Tikka Masala
and, Poona-ni

But here it is, my blog: Vindaloo Ventures.  And actually, here it isn't -- it's day two (or three, if you count the plane ride), and I'm 3 minutes from passing out.  Good news is that, after tonight, I think I'll be on the Mumbai time zone schedule - which, p.s., is 9 hours and 30 minutes ahead of the Eastern Standard Time.  So, hello from the future!  And, after tonight, I should be able to post something a bit longer, although I don't have a ton of pictures yet.  Anyway, I'm safe, and stuffed on Indian food already.  I did veggie kabob tonight, because, you know - the blood pressure.  And so far it's been really, really interesting.

So, with that, I bid you all adieu, and will catch up soon!
